“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen,” a familiar voice boomed into the mic. “We are Fugazi from Washington, DC.” Twenty-five years ago, the legendary band stood atop a rickety wooden stage in Peoria, Illinois – inside the very same room the Who and Black Sabbath once played, and where Black Flag *almost* played on their final tour. Around 900 people were in attendance for a show that was equal parts legendary, brilliant, infamous and frustrating.
***In 2004, the band launched the Fugazi Live Series featuring concerts from throughout their career. The Peoria show was among the first 20 shows hand-picked by the band for release: https://www.dischord.com/fugazi_live…/peoria-il-usa-100995
